The wargamers library
So in anticipation of at some point post-apocalypse having a games room and bookshelves I was thinking that I really must make sure I have a collection of the essentials in wargaming and military books. What do you consider to be the essentials in any serious wargamer’s book collection.
Note that I’m separately asking Purps and Norm for the Jazz mag must-have list as well so no need to suggest In that category.
Oh and it’s a library in here so shhhhhhh

Re: The wargamers library
Make it easy, 3 wargames books and 3 military history per respondent.
Napoleons Campaign in Miniatures.
Operation Warboard.
Featherstones solo wargaming.
Other books to taste but that is my, relight my fire book.
Chandlers, Campaigns of Napoleon.
Nordykes, All American, all the Way.
Sumptions History of the 100 Years War.

Anything by Featherstone. Any other Wargaming book. Uniforms of your preferred periods. Histories of your preferred periods. And others. Lots of rulesets. And lots of other books. And stuff. You need lots of stuff too.

Re: The wargamers library
I would have 2 copies of Charge. One nice and pristine. The other for everyday use.
I actually have 3 copies of Charge. 2 originals and Terry Wise Athena version.
I would also have Don's first book - War Games and Charles Grant's The Wargame.

Charge
The War Game
Achtung Schweinhundt

And a blank notebook and pen for all the notes, army lists, potential scenarios, and other wargames jottings.

"Charge" by Lawford and Young.
"The Wargame" by Charles Grant Snr
"Wargames through the Ages" (mutli-volume, counts as one choice) by Donald Featherstone.
I'll leave it there, as I can't narrow my military history collection down to just three.
