What sort of force size would be adequate?

Doesn't matter. What matters is that you have a really under-sized gun if you bring any artillery.

I certainly wouldn't paint any just to be display pieces, but if you can wargame with them they have my interest. You can use 28mm scenery in the main too, so they're not impossible to accommodate with minimal effort.

A rough guide to unit sizes (but they can be any size you want)
Line Infantry 12
Cavalry 6
Artillery 1 gun and 3-4 crew
Little Britons/STS will set you back about £25 a unit. Irregular considerably less (and they have some nice figures)
You could have a good game with 3 units. But if you’re interested bring however much you fancy No matter how few - I’ve already got quite a few units and intend to add more. There’ll probably be some scope to lend some out on the day if needed.

Yep it’s definitely a “taste” thing. And EB has already got his basing horribly wrong so the ribbing should commence forthwith.Jeremy wrote: ↑Wed Jan 24, 2018 1:06 pm As much as I love LA gatherings, I doubt I’ll be at this one. I just don’t understand the whole Old School gloss thing. Never mind being in a completely impractical scale!
Still, I’m sure in typical LA fashion much fun will be had. And EB will be ribbed mercilessly.

Obviously yes from me, and thank you Simon for getting this up and running. I am all for tying it into your own campaign and back story. But the Army of the East will be marching forth to battle.
Rules? You ask me what rules do I use. No, I don't do rules.

I'm worried that sounds a bit 'culty'....I can imagine in twenty years time Purps being asked to use a 42mm Prussian Jaegar to show someone the unspeakable acts perpetrated on him!
