But, when Outragious and Dubious get flat tops and Beatty gets his six merchie conversions, we will be able to attack the HSF at anchor with over 100 planes at will. The army are suffering from Spanish flu, the Americans even more so, so the summer offensive may be delayed.

The Cuckoo may have been a bit slow, but the warhead in the torpedo was just as good as any other torpedo, delivered when the ship wasn't closed up; for action. The Hun would have responded by putting fighters on airstrips nearby, and the RN would have responded with camels on some of the carriers.

Taranto wasn't carried out by Blackburn Firebrands.
