frankly is a bit disappointing that there hasn't been any varnish discussion despite this teaser hanging here for hours now

Oh hang on, he doesn’t
It seems an odd theme for a magazine that derives income from advertising new rules to take.
He strikes me as one of those gamers who would tell a novice to go away and study a period for 30 years and then come back for a game.
He also tells people who complain about the ridiculous number of command figures in an Old Glory bag (16+ out of 50, including standard bearers that had no business being in there at all) to "Just do what I do, and just throw the excess away." Between him and Russ Dunaway insisting that the Blue Moon sculptor actually HAS seen a real horse (and presumably ignored whatever it was he saw), I was completely put off ever buying OG or BM figures ever again

I am sure he has seen a horse, but he clearly identifies cavalry with large chaps mounted on chihuahuas.

Testors dullcote, all else is heresy. You can put a layer of glosscote underneath, if you must. And it[is ok to brush gloss varnish on leater and metals afterwards.

Yes. Thus endeth the discussion.

Apart from that some people will prefer other varnish of course. Entirely a personal choice. Each to their own. And do on.

NMP Sale

The Cloathing Book 1742 - hardly an extravagance

The new Franco-Prussian War uniforms and equipment set - two volumes, eye waveringly expensive, but beautifully cased and presented, in the sale, and essential.
