So over on the loose cord the end of September will mark the start of Goblin Week. What's Goblin Week ? you ask. Well its difficult to imagine that you don't know, but its simple really....

Week commencing Monday 28 September.Paint a single figure, unit, squad, horde, all-conquering army of goblins. As many as you can manage in a week. They can be prepped and undercoated before you start. After that get back to the normal painting drudge. Any scale, any definition of "goblin".

Join in over on the cord or on this thread and post your WIPs and finished Goblins. Plenty of time between now and then to buy and prep your little gobliny feckers. You can even get Essex Goblins if you are certifiably insane.

You don't have to take part. But then we'll know you are an elf in disguise.

I have a theory on the orc/goblin thing with Tolkien. He said orcs were twisted captured elves. And used goblins in the Hobbit. But later said goblins and orcs were the same thing (3rd ed LOTR when a few bits got revised I think).

But I always reckoned the Dwarf lobby got to him, as Goblins home Capital is Gunderbad, which is also where Durin awoke. I reckon Goblins are really the dwarfs that found him too prissy and dictatorial....
