I'm hoping to finish one last Zulu unit - Unmarried warriors - before Sunday's games.
The HaT figures paint up quite well & after a bit of washing (paint not spears) & highlighting & basing, they'll look OK.

Looking good.
And not too much assembly. I've assembled dozens and dozens of Newline Zulus......nice little buggers, but arrrrrgggggh!

Re: Zulu W-i-P
Newline are undoubtedly the best Zulu figures but I have some Raventhorpe which are pretty good, too.
The HaT figures mix in well. As they do Married & Unmarried (the only manufacturer that does) they are particularly useful.
Just file off the head ring, I hear you say? HaT's UMs are slighter figures, which better suits the younger boys/men who made up these units. They also include a cracking Induna who carries the smaller shield; again which no one else does.
This will be my last Zulu regiment....I will have 16 @ 20 figures each. Enough.

More than enough!
You didn't hear me say anything about filing off a head ring. Voices, Donal, you're hearing voices! Can you imagine me offering advice on historical accuracy (a wargamer's historical accuracy, that is, not actual historical accuracy)?

Lovely. However, I must protest - you never have enough Zulus. Trust me, I know this!
Why us? Cos we're 'ere lad, nobody else.
Re: Zulu W-i-P
Hello Gary. No one will ever come close to your Zulu holdings.
Re: Zulu W-i-P
Gary, you're an environmental Zulu player (ie into re-cycling "dead" units)?
I have enough for smaller games but Islandlewana will require a certain amount of Returning.

Yes, I didn't want to mention it but I'm in touch with the Fey Folk who speak to me constantly.Essex Boy wrote: ↑Tue Sep 29, 2020 10:58 pm More than enough!

Indeed, it's become such a nuisance I'm thinking of planting a Rowan tree near the front door.

Donald,
I try to avoid recycling Zulu units. That's why I have approaching 1000 of them. It's madness, but I just keep buying them.
