Don't invite the Normans unless you are in good health, although he's been busy lately.

Finally the gloss dried and I was able to apply a coat of matt varnish to the second rank of the Skutatoi in Sheildwall yesterday.

The second rank were every bit as much fun to paint as the first rank which is not always the case in a unit that is largely uniform. As I type I have the third rank including the command glossed and ready for a matt coat in a few days. The final rank is in the process of having some paint splashed on and should be completed by the end of this evening.

For more pics and discussion on why I have based them the way they are as well as basing for Swordpoint please hop over to my blog here:

Luvverly jubbly!

If they were my figures, I know I'd be worried about "terraining" the bases in between them - even spaced that far apart. Good luck with that!

I'm quite careful when it comes to that sort of thing so no sweat. you just need the tools for the job. I did Fine Art at Uni so I know a few tricks ;) :)

Ahaa! I knew it!! I don't think proper artists should be allowed to paint wargames figures. They know too much about light, shade and stuff and just make the rest of us look crap. :2guns:

I don't know about being a "proper artist". The last real painting I finished was 22 years ago!

Well, what I meant was that it's not a real oil painting,
