O Group

Post by grizzlymc »

I have just watched the TFL video No 1 on O Group, their Bn Level game for WWII. Ver much owing its mechanisms to CoC, it seems to rather elegantly handle the complexities of WWII infantry fighting. Next video should see some tankie action.

Worth a go.

Note to self. Get some WWII figs painted.

And of course, tailor made for TOTS.

I think so, but it's being marketed to grotesquely large scale.

With a bit of planning you could probably use the same forces as you use for CoC.

I'm looking forward to the second video. I did like that patrols and recce were a thing and were intrinsic to the gameplay. And that the combat elegant and simplified to tactical approaches and outcomes rather than technology minutae.

I felt the 15mm looked a little too abstract for me especially the buildings, but thats an aesthetic thing, it certainly didn't detract from the gameplay. I've certainly got this one bookmarked as a possible way to revive my GHQ dreams

I'm more and more glad I kept my 20mm stuff. Though I wasnt a fan of CoC I'd be interested to know more about this.

Tim, if you don't like CoC, you could try TW&T.
