Anyone got any recommendations for manufacturers of 28mm Scottish buildings? Not really looking for castles, more village style - probably have to be resin - or 3d printed. I am thinking of Black Houses and the cottage at Culloden Moor.
I suppose the alternative would be trying to figure out what Derby, Hexham etc looked like in the 1740s

But that may not be much help now as Dave only does painted models at a fairly hefty price
Fortunately I bought mine years ago when they were just expensive.
It might be more work than you want but it might be worth a look at the Peter Dennis Paper Soldiers Book wargame the '45. It contains some Scottish buildings specific to the period - if you were to copy to card and mount on foamboard they might do you. I think they are scaled for 28mm but of course you can enlarge or reduce when you copy. There's also a "European Buildings: 28mm paper models for 18th & 19th century wargames" which might be useful when the action moves further south.
The Dressing the Lines blog has posts and pictures of buildings from both books - the '45 stuff is at

Thanks chaps.. all useful grist to the mill. The H&A I don't believe are available in the UK, and the Grand Manner stuff is way too pricey for my taste.
I think it might be scratch building then.. after all... how hard could it be? :o
