Change is bad

Post by ochoin »

Actually, I generally embrace change, welcoming the challenge. But there are limits!

The LHS (once brilliant but nearly useless, now; however, still stocking a lot of terrain items such as scatter, sand etc & paint) are phasing out their extensive range of Vallejo paint for the Army Painter brand.

I just don't really like the AP runny paints. And the names of the colours betray a fantasy bent that beings me no comfort.

I guess I'll be ordering from Hearns in Melbourne. The difference in cost from mail order to the exorbitant off-the-shelf prices is minor but it was convenient to drop by (8 minutes down the road) & pick up a couple of bottles.

Change: bah! Humbug!!

There is an LHS 12km away which I first patronised in 1972. On Wednesday, I phoned them up to order three tins of humbrol paint, some clump foliage and some varnish. Arrived on Friday. Change? Why bother?

If you can't get it from Hearns; Military Hobbies, down the road from me, carries Vallejo and a lot of other brands. They'll be happy to do mail order too. https://militaryhobbies.com.au/

Us old sweats on the Buccaneer force reckoned that the longest part of the Tornado maintenance course was teaching people the acronyms.

Are there not the same issues Royal Mail now has about posting more than three bottles (I think) in a package?

I was wondering why you were buying paint at La Haie Sainte...
