It depends how accurate you like your models!BaronVonWreckedoften wrote: ↑Wed Nov 25, 2020 10:26 pmThey did have a "troop box" of Matilda IIs - the box art had the early war white/red/white stripes on, so I assume good for France '40 and early Western Desert.

I believe that the plastic kit can be built as France, Western Desert, and an Aussie version. At some point I will do all 3. But can't justify it at the moment.
Of course, now I've bought the Winter Germans I suspect at some stage I am going to buy the Rubicon King Tiger, which I can't justify either. But that's wargamers logic for you.

Two Matildas, both under new ownership, France 1940, North Africa 1941 (possibly 1942). Spot the difference... (hint - not simply the paint scheme)
Spot the difference (2); France 1940, UK 1941.

1. In the second picture they are wearing shorts.
2. In the second picture the rubbish bin’s missing.
What do I win?

Pay LT.. he's got it. Yep, I believe the Warlord kit has both the raised and lowered track assembly, plus the trench crossing skid, and hopefully the smoke dischargers, which appear to be missing from all the above.
Anyway. Now I have purchased winter Germans it's a slippery slope, (icy no doubt) to Empress Late War British, Americans in Greatcoats and a whole new set of terrain. Oh, and maybe Soviets in Winter gear too.

Fair enough. Most kit makers, including Tamiya, missed the different suspension and tail skid on the BEF Matilda II's, which were fitted to most, if not all the Matildas in France.

Actually, the third option in the kit is the Soviet version, my mistake. But it would be very easy to convert to an Aussie one for the Pacific.

The British Army kindly donated many of their early Matilda tanks to the Germans to allow for in depth study ...goat major wrote: ↑Thu Nov 26, 2020 8:48 am 3 of the 4 pics have too many Germans for a British army
