If you have twitter, read this tweet,

it probably explains everything better than I can even summarise.

I've bought another paint rack. One won't even house all the different greens and variations of khaki I seem to have.

Rubicon Opel Blitz and Panzer bought too.

Very tempted by a platoon of Offensive Miniatures US paras as my virtual vappa splash out but we'll see.

What am i buying? A bunch of Russians in Winter gear... But I am happy that all the base clothing colours have been laid down on the last batch of Sub-Roman British to complete a Dux Britanniarum army, only minor fly in ointment is breaking my Army Painter hard leather bottle.. it just split open when I was trying to unscrew the top.

Bought WI & MW, despite my recent 'Wargames magazines are shit' post. A nice little bundle of warlord games epic ACW plastic figures with WI , about 12mm in size, ten to a strip, with bases and a gun, etc. Epic indeed at 100 figures to a Regt and I might even paint them. The full box sells at about £80 for 2,400 figures I think it said. I'm almost tempted. But I'm trying to resist.

I didnt manage to get a copy of WI but the ACW looked interesting. It put me off that they use the same figure for both sides, no slouch hats, or zouaves, or Iron Brigade...

True, it's one sprue and generic to both sides, so quite basic really. From what little there is to read about it, it doesn't look like they're planning to do any different sprues, but it would be more complete if they did, as you say, Zouaves, Iron Bde, etc.

You could always use the figures for Western theatre rather than Eastern. Hardly any exotic units in the West and the mix of kepis and hats was common for both sides.

These figures would work well with the Altar of Freedom rules which uses a single base measuring 60 by 30mm to represent a brigade.
