Nellies

Post by ochoin »

My project for 2021 is a Pyrrhic army....or something like one.

I want a couple of elephants. Newline has three.

https://newlinedesigns.co.uk/product-ca ... cedonians/

I'm guessing the Indian one is not suitable but Macedonian or Successor(armoured) ones? Perhaps one of each?

Sometime down the track, I'll be bothering you about how to paint the hide....

OK, OK can we keep to the topic of *which* nellies to buy?

I have to put in an order before the end of the month.

I have definitely seen some pink elephants round here, but they aren't surplus I'm afraid.

I'd go for the Macedonian elephant. The Indian looks daft without a howdah and the armour and crest on the Successor elephant looks pants.

And I'd paint the Macedonian elephant a darkish grey with a hint of brown, and decorate the legs and face and ears and tail with pretty pastel colours.

You're welcome.

I read somewhere that also Zvezda's doing some nice, though rather large, 20mm Ellies. Might be suitable.

I had some of them, and I agree with you on all counts.

They are very much like the Newline offerings if I remember correctly. Very nice, but I didn't like the armoured one.

Pink and orange, you need to mix more pineapple juice with your hand sanitiser.
