What are people buying?
Re: What are people buying?
I've decided to ignore Barons War, if I dont I'm going to get drawn in and I feel like if you didnt back the kickstarter youre too late and not in the club. Nope, I've 4 pointy sticks periods and thats enough!
Re: What are people buying?
I've had a look and the Barons War figures are mostly the same height but noticeably beefier than the Claymore Castings figures. Some of the BW characters seem taller as well.Shahbahraz wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 3:51 pm ... anyone sized them up against the Claymore Castings now Antidiluvian range?
However, given that people are different size the discrepencies are not enough to worry me about mixing them in a game.
Comparison photo: Claymore on the left, Barons War (Footsore) on the right.
The Barons War figures fit in with the crusades too so you get a two for one

I did rather want one of those, hopefully EUP will get around to another run.Buff Orpington wrote: ↑Tue Feb 02, 2021 5:59 pm Just bought the Christmas present I couldn't get in December, I found someone selling the Lion Rampant Crusades book on Ebay.
I get lockdown, but I get up again.

Thanks Paul, I'm like you, I wouldn't mind mixing them in the same unit, but I probably wouldn't have them separate or one base/unit would be like: "oi.. fat boy, who are all the pies?"

Re: What are people buying?
Just picked up a Warlord Stuart. It's the Konflikt version with a Tesla cannon. The plain, vanilla one will be perfectly acceptable in Kumbaya and fits my current theme of using US war surplus for the KLF. Now I need to convince the others not to field any guns bigger than 37mm.

.... shudder... brings back horrible memories of building a 1/72 kit of the Stuart that was a Chinese knock off of a poor Hasegawa kit, in plastic that wouldn't glue, every part covered in flash and ill fitting... aargghhh.

"Lee Models" was the brand that I recall IIRC. I had their version of Hasegawa's Grant (or Lee, I forget). It was a straight copy of the Hasegawa kit, right down to the layout on the sprue. It might even live on in the depths of the stash as I don't think I ever built it.Shahbahraz wrote: ↑Fri Feb 05, 2021 8:57 am .... shudder... brings back horrible memories of building a 1/72 kit of the Stuart that was a Chinese knock off of a poor Hasegawa kit, in plastic that wouldn't glue, every part covered in flash and ill fitting... aargghhh.

This was 'science treasury' an appallingly badly moulded knock off in hideous plastic and a ton of flash.

So presumably Early FJ so you don't have to paint splintermuster or sumpfmuster. Cunning. All you will need are some nuns in boots and the Home Guard.
