Re: What are people buying?
I did an airbrushing course once and the guy running it said his golden rule was always to use the correctly branded thinner for each type of paint since they all use slightly different mediums. He repaired /cleaned airbrushes and thought that a large proportion of problems he saw came from people mixing and matching their thinners.

it wouldn't surprise me, and the cheap airbrushes typically use cheap seals that can be damaged by thinners etc. But since you can buy a complete replacement for £12.99 - who cares?
I've thought about going on an airbrushing course, but nothing on offer locally.

I was thinking of the one on a residential street in Invergowrie. Probably long gone now as the guy running it was at least twenty years older than me.Shahbahraz wrote: ↑Tue Mar 09, 2021 7:46 am Just a little place in the Eastern suburb of Broughty Ferry called Space Craft.

No, still there last time I looked about 18 months ago. All sorts of kits tucked away in there, not much 'wargames' stuff. It's the opposite end of town to me, so I tend to use the one in the Ferry. And there's a GW shop in town. Out in Letham there's a weird little 'crafts' store too, that stocks Prince August casting kits and some other bits and pieces.
There used to be some really good hobby shops locally. Bryan Sherriffs had two shops in Dundee at one stage, each one an Aladdin's Cave for a youngster, everything from Airfix HO/OO Spacemen to giant R/C aeroplanes. I picked up my first metal figures from their place in Lochee, 25mm Hinchcliffe Napoleonic Scots Greys. There was a third model shop on the Perth Road a bit later, plus the railway modeller shops.

Re: What are people buying?
As part of my ongoing stroke-recovery therapy, I've decided to get another twelve SYW 'French' (actually two-thirds Swiss) battalions from Eureka, to finish off the second line of the French order of battle for Rossbach. That'll be more than enough for campaign purposes, I think (32 infantry battalions, 32 cavalry squadrons (organised into 6 brigade/regiment units) and 6 guns). Then I'll have to get a British/Hanoverian army, though I might leave that until 2022.
We're going to do a 10mm ACW demo game for Warfare at Ascot in November, so my next big buy is going to be polystyrene, flock and a load of Pendraken...

Re: What are people buying?
On the 21st March I shall be buying the Footsore Kickstarter- Barons' War 3 - Death and Taxes (with that title, how could I not).
Of course I have not actually painted any of the previous 2 Kickstarters but they look lonely in the box and probably need the company.

And for this reason, I haven't bought into any Kickstarters this year. In actual fact my purchased vs painted is looking fairly healthy. No doubt that will change but I just haven't been enthused enough. I did buy O Group, but given there is little prospect of a game soon, I havent rushed out to buy toys for it.

I’ve got 4 High Medieval projects on the go:
Wars of the Roses
100 Years War
Italian Feudal
2nd Barons War
And then the 1st Baron’s War (status: Not-on-the-Go)
What I really need is a kick up the arse
I get lockdown, but I get up again.
