Those who the 'dice gods' love...

Post by Penda »

Image
My first Face-to-Face game today here in GHQ with a blooding for my new Punic Wars armies painted during the first Lockdown last year. In our rules Elephants get 8 hits in combat, so you definitely don't want seven 1's and a 2 do you...?

I did warn you not to borrow my dice (actually, even by my standards, seven 1s an one 2 out of eight dice is mind-numbingly cruel).

Great to see this lovely collection in action on the table.
Rules? You ask me what rules do I use. No, I don't do rules.

Beautiful figures. Well done, you.

As for elephants, they nearly never work out the way you hope.

I'm starting to lean towards the idea of having "elephant units in being" - that is, try to keep them out of combat & use them as a blocking force or an anti-cavalry (the smell, doncha know) force.

Camels will do the same job, and cost a lot less in water. And buns.
