It's more "How much is that Hockney in the window?"Norman D. Landings wrote: ↑Sun Jun 06, 2021 2:07 pm Is that a quid a bottle or a quid a glass for hock, though?
Cos I'm all about the quality.

Just like Mail armour which is much more labour intensive to make. You have to make sure that the weight is able to be carried correctly with that too.Norman D. Landings wrote: ↑Sun Jun 06, 2021 2:06 pm Making LM to measure had nothing to do with the wearer's musculature.
It's about things like torso length and enabling arm movement.

Yeah, but I was quoting and replying to your second post where you were still talking about metal CuirassNorman D. Landings wrote: ↑Sun Jun 06, 2021 2:06 pm Face - and, as the kids say - palm.
Of course they're leather.
That was my whole point - see my first post.

A mail shirt two inches too long is just two inches longer than the next guy's. (Phrasing)
Make Lorica Musculata two inches too long, the neck rim will come up and smack you on the chin at every stride.
The length of a mailshirt is easily wearer-adjustable by just hanging some over your belt.
(Which, incidentally, is how you carry some of the weight.)
Lorica Musculata is not wearer-adjustable in the slightest short of hacking a bit off.
Probably not a centurion-approved procedure.
