So played through the game today, mainly just to try out the rules, amazingly I’ve never played WAB coming from a WRG upbringing it had a few head scratchy moments but I think I’ve got there .
It was Thebes + allies vs Sparta and their motley band of subject cities. The Theban plan was to avoid that nasty looking Spartan unit and overwhelm the flanks. In the end the phalanx clash caused the Spartan allies to collapse spectacularly. Good fun though the rules occasionally feel like a WIP in places ... It was nice to give a first run out to the new game boards too.
