I have all Neil Thomas' books. The Ancient and Medieval one has been the most useful to me so far. Though I think these two will prove very useful. Thanks to Mark for sparking the flame.

Got my trade boxes of Britains deetail down from the loft. Somewhere I think I have some alternate painted Confederates and a few old origionals. So could make a game of 10 units a side once the artillery is added. Can't seem to find and Confederate gunners?

Nice, especially as already painted!

My armies seem to have coalesed into Scots vs French!

Mostly as no one in the UK has the FPW Prussians in stock.

What about using Russians instead?
Rules? You ask me what rules do I use. No, I don't do rules.

I'm surprised at that. You know the WWI in picklehaubs are the same figures? I'll look in the shop next I'm there. If you get desperate I've some spares that wont get painted anytime soon.

Yep, all the same. AIP repeat a lot of sets as different types.

Dug out my origional Deetail figures, plus the early 2000's re-release in alternate paint job (bought from the Guards Toy Soldier Shop outside Buckingham Palace) Also got out some gunners for a repaint/revarnish to matt. I've a few gun options and will use the timpo 12lber and the AIP 12lber, which is a lovely model and probably the only one true to scale.
