Stephan (Fredbloggs)at Rapier sent me some of 6mm Mongols because I helped him with the research. I offered to paint some for him (hopefiully to be used on his stand but he hasn't seen them yet so the jury is still out on that one).
These, considering the size, are lovely little sculpts. Clean, crisp lines makes them so easy to paint in my 'Morse Code' painting style and there are no 'what is that supposed to be?' areas anywhere. Looking forward to seeing the infantry which are due out in the summer.
Hmmm, wonder when he is going to do Russians or Hungarians or Song Chinese or Jurchen or Cumani or Polish. I could go on but I reckon that should keep him going till at least the end of the year.
So here are a couple of taster pics wot I have took. More on the blog at http://thewordsofsubedai.blogspot.co.uk.

The figures look very nice, and suitably enhanced by the excellent paintjobs. Thanks for sharing.

Long term, all of them, medium term, either Russ, Jin and Song Chinese or Japanese.
Love them, just right and thank you for the praise.

No problem Fred, credit where credit's due, they are lovely little chaps.
Nobody -to my knowledge anyway- does Kyevan Russ in 6mm at the moment possibly because of their uniqueness in armour styles. The current problem is that it is really difficult to get proxies in this scale, Normans are okay with the kite shields, some Saxons/Vikings are okay for the smerd with the round shield but the druzhina would cause a real headache even in 6mm. It's the helmet styles that causes problems.
(Another plus is that it would make a great display game for a show)

Those look excellent, the morse code clearly works.
You’re going to need a horde of them though.

Being a Mongol army, you only half or fewer than the enemy, great starter army.
