A sizeable pile of Huns arrived at my doorstop, courtesy of Tumbling Dice.
As usual with this manufacturer, there were lots of glue-on extras - bows, quivers, swords, shields, maces, lariats, extra hats, severed heads....& several standards.
These include poles topped by one or two heads (one of which appears to be a woman, disturbingly), various cow horns & what could be a human heart & arteries. No dracos, sadly.
There also some banners. One is a streamer-type, the other a Roman-type vexillum. I'm leaning towards using these for squeamish reasons. I've looked on the web & can't find any Hun devices to paint on them.
Maybe just paint them black or is that too melodramatic?

Red, white circle, swastika. Unless you live in Germany or Poland.
Re: Hun banners and flags
With the vexillum I confess I might try for a 'defaced Roman standard' but it might be tricky to pull off.
And that opens up so many opportunities for double entendres it can only lead to tears, as the defaced Roman said, once it had been pulled off.

Yes, I was going to go for captured standards with which to taunt their enemies. Seems like the sort of Hunnish thing that would be done by.....well.....Huns.

I'm done. I went with the cow horn, eviscerated body parts & heads option.
The Huns were probably victims of Roman propaganda but I still think they're not the sort of person I'd invited to Tea & should be shown thus.
