Excellent day yesterday. Really enjoyed it. Nice to see Simon, Peeler, Alex, and Norm. I bought a few books and mags and technically I left with no lead. However, Peeler, twat that he is, with support from Simon, forced me to order some more musicians from Eagle Miniatures. They should arrive this week. Just another small band...

No one was with you at the stand as you voluntarily filled in the mortgage forms to buy yet another
band. I feel it is churlish to blame your good chums who tried to keep you down to just 2 figures.

Yes was a really good day and good to see fellow inmates again. Managed to buy a copy of the vintage GW Spacerfarers rules - just because. The bloke on the table stand said he was giving up wargaming because everyone was a bit weird ……

Some nice games on display. I particularly liked the 18thC West African (Benin vs errr someone else). Not a European in sight. Very inspirational !

It's been a couple of years since I took part in one, but a Benin (as opposed to benign) army was very popular on the FoG:R competition circuit whenever some sadistic organiser decreed "African armies only, no European allies". Irregular do a nice little 15mm range (no, honestly, it actually is quite good), including a general riding a donkey and carrying a parasol.

I wanted a band, not a duo. And anyway, to represent OberstMajor Pieler's Wind Section I'd really need something approaching a brigade...

I always loved the figures, the Marines are still without equal of the type in my opinion. But for me the rules of choice for those guys was "Laserburn". Don't they just seem so small by comparison with today's offerings.
Rules? You ask me what rules do I use. No, I don't do rules.

I presume that they can only play standing up?

I doubt I’ll actually use the rules, i got them because I’m currently restoring my old Spacefarers figures and it seemed too good a chance to pass up for a fiver. Back in the day we used to use them for Traveller games. Now it I’ll probably use them for 5 parsecs, stargrave and maybe the sci fi rampant thats due next year

I think the 28mm game was Irregular too but I didn’t have my glasses with me so couldn’t work out the level of “Irregularity” of them. 15mm though - that sounds possible . Hmmmmm
