My cavalry 'squadrons' have fifteen figures. Other peoples cavalry 'regiments' have twelve figures. And, people being people, some of them have cavalry 'squadrons' of twelve figures. It's a funny old world.

The important thing is the look. My cavalry forms up two deep, and I'm likely to suggest that all twelve plus figure regiments/squadrons/whatever do likewise.....because it looks cool, and the frontage is more manageable. If your cavalry squadrons are smaller than twelve figures, so be it. Not to worry. Size won't matter, although it will matter how many units you can have.

Yes, probably dragoons will count as heavy cavalry (I'll most likely drop 'heavy' and just have 'horse'), and when they dismount they will count as light infantry. I intend to let them be dragoons, so they will be able to mount and dismount.....provided the appropriate figures can be fielded. I rather like the idea of dragoons being dragoons. They may loose a D6 in melee against proper 'horse' when mounted.

Thank goodness, the noise the poor animals make as they're shot across the battlefield is heart breaking!

I'm trying to work out if I could use all my cavalry and still have a foot Brigade. I suspect I may struggle with the four brigade maximum rule :(

As much as it goes against the grain, Paul, I fear that those of us with big armies are probably not going to get all our toys on the table - leastways, not all at the same time or not under you own command. Time and space are not our friends. But in due course, Dave will have much to say on the subject of numbers I'm sure.

I've got so many cavalry units with real "history" I might well go with an all mounted force (maybe some dragoons).
