Next Year.
Hm interesting. These sort of posts are always a good way of organising one's ideas etc. I'll start off with a round up of completions. 42 mm Shiny Toy Soldiers: I am calling that completed. Three large armies is enough for anybody, and I have no more cabinet space to house additional troops. I am halfway through refurbishing (re-painting and rebasing basically) my King and Country WWII collection, and by the end of this week that will be done and dusted. Can't afford to add to it anymore.
As for next year, ambitions are to bring my shiny 30mm ACW collection that was completed up to the new troop levels as decreed by EB. Actually it makes sense to add two more brigades to each army to get more fun out of our Shed rules. I want to make some more progress on my Imagination Ancients and 54 mm ECW armies. I do need to crank out some more ACW for the November game, then I can finally draw a line under that. Then I need to get some more shiny Napoleonics done, Prussians and British, to match Iain's output. And very tempted by the idea of putting together Swiss and Burgundian late Medieval armies in the style of Penda's Italian Wars collections. I think that's enough, provided I can stick to my guns.
Next Year.

Rules? You ask me what rules do I use. No, I don't do rules.

Probably ancients (25mm), ancients (15mm), 25mm Sci fi , 25mm fantasy and finishing off my 28mm Belgians will keep me busy throughout next year and most likely the one after that too

Trying to make a dent in the lead and plastic piles that I've already got. Hopefully complete at least one or two SP2 forces (AWI 71st Foot and 1809 Bavarians), a similar number of CoC 1940 platoons (51st Highland and Tirailleurs Senegalese), two SAGA forces (Norman and Irish), more Coastal Patrol/Cruel Seas stuff, and a couple of 15mm FoG:R armies (candidates yet to be chosen). All of which, including the FoG:R forces, are already primed/undercoated.
No new stuff until at least 2022. At all. Definitely.

Re: Next Year.
Well, three new 28mm Dixon ACW regiments and one cavalry regiment. All totally unneeded and unnecessary but, why not? Two more regular infantry regiments for my Pendawar project. 15mm Cold War Gone Hot, for which I only need trees, roads and more buildings!
There is no point in being stupid if you don't show it!

Re: Next Year.
I'm hoping to get my SYW campaigns off the ground, starting with a straight 1757 Bohemia campaign and then perhaps a more ambitious Europe-wide military-political campaign. I'll therefore need to paint the rest of my SYW British/Hanoverian/Hessian/Brunswick army and also make inroads into the AB Napoleonic Mountain. We've also got plans to refight Dresden (1813) toward the end of the year.

Re: Next Year.
Lots of interesting projects out there!
Probably a mix for me, and hopefully I'll be more productive than this year (not difficult).
15mm Sci-fi and Fantasy, 6mm 18th and 19th century, a few 28mm 18th century for Ayton, scenery and terrain for all sorts. Scratchbuilt inter-war naval too.

Re: Next Year.
I think I have to actually finish some projects and not start anything new
The targets for finishing have to be Barons War, SYW, ECW and Eytai Wars
The BW figures are nearly done and should be easy as its only a skirmish level game but I would like to build a fortified Manor/castle.
I have maybe 6 SYW infantry regiments unpainted (including Grenadiers) and some Austrian artillery, The problem is that the life and love has gone from the project and the main aim in finishing would be to sell it off I think
ECW -90% of the Royalist infantry are done and about 3 cavalry units, no artillery so a bit of work as the Parliamentary army will need to be tackled
Eytai Wars - got about 100 Landsknecht to finish but then I will need more Gendarmes, other cavalry, Spanish infantry and probably some Italian infantry
On the side I hope to quietly increase the size of my 15mm Napoleonic Austrian army, add to my French and finish some YG
The difficulty with this is that I'm a butterfly painter flitting from 1 period to another!
Plan derailment is all to easy because
1 I must ignore the siren call of Indian Mutiny and WOTR
2 I have probably forgotten something

Re: Next Year.
VB, keep the tricornes, then if covid etc let you get back to Ayton, you have them in hand, and likely a room of likely buyers too.
Re: Next Year.
I suggest you offload the SYW Austrian Artillery (28mm right?) I mean, it is clearly causing you mental anguish...

Is this a thing?
