I did consider doing a unit or two but after the bombshell of 17th Cen 2023 I've invested my budget and time to then. It'll May before we know it.
Timbo, before accepting on your behalf I had arranged this with Gary. I'm getting a nice little British force and you are earmarked for our gallant Hanoverian Allies. So troops for thee and me are sorted.
Absolutely. 2 brigades of foot, 1 of horse and a couple of guns each. More available if the authorities permit it.
Cheers Gaza.

I was at pains to make it clear that I don't want a final list. What do you realistically expect to bring to Ayton as of today?

Does it include 12 little Indians by any chance?

12? At least! And I've got canoes to paint as well! I'll bring my own trees. It'll be like Birnam Wood!

Just seen the message about numbers. I can bring 3 brigades of foot with artillery and 2 brigades of Horse ( 1 x Cuirassier and 1 x Dragoon 8 squadrons), all Prussian.

Could also cobble together a joint Brigade of Austrian/Russian/French foot and a Russian Cuirassier Brigade ( 4 Squadrons) if required.

Got some Squadrons of Hussars as well but would need to double check numbers.

Many thanks, John.

I'd better repost my request otherwise it'll be completely lost........and Andy might read it properly this time.

Just as a matter of interest, and very roughly, what troops are people thinking of bringing to the 18thC game in May? And, just as importantly, I'd like to know if you will be playing but have no troops.

PM me or, if you have my email address, that would be fine as well. Gary, I've already put you down for a couple of dozen brigades.....a side.

If you're bringing troops I'm really only interested in a ball park figure, we can get a bit more serious in a couple or three months. Please check out the notes at the top of page one of this thread for details of troop types and organisation.

So, think infantry units (line or light), cavalry units (light or heavy, lancer or/and cuirassier) and guns (field or stupidly heavy). Do you have strange units that you think we might allow you to use (hahahahahahahahahahaha, no you can't, but there's no harm in asking).

I imagine there will be some questions so please, please, can we keep the next couple of pages on message?

Many thanks

Iain
Just in case anyone missed my note (above)........
