Silly Ebay Prices!

Post by Paul »

I was astounded to come across this (A copy of the SKytrex rules for Middle Earth for sale at £150)!
I have a copy on my shelf and was surprised that it actually seems to sell for between £20-40 (which still seems a lot for little book). But that guy is just taking the proverbial :D

See if you've got the 1st edition of Boot Hill tucked away, he wants £900 for that.

Wargames rules aren't like classic books, we usually regard new editions as improvements, 7th Ed WRG Ancients and WFB excepted.

Only £14 a month for 12 months though, makes it seem like a bargain.
The Warhammer wild west skirmish books seemed to rocket up in value a while back too.

I saw a Space Hulk set (the latest one) still in its wrapper for over £400

People are asking nearly £700 for 2nd Edition Space Hulk!!

Of course the prices people ask aren't necessarily what they'll get.

Now that Warhammer is officially "Cool" it's time we cashed in. Apparently, last year a single figure sold for £25,730 at auction. It's time to upgrade the home contents insurance.

Edit: OK it was the original metal Thunderhawk gunship which was advertised as being only for madmen or Americans.

Was that the one sold by Emil (Squidmar Miniatures)?
It did gain a fair amount of traction because of his YouTube channel and (I think) a charity element.

If it was, he had to pack a £25k, built and painted model, and send it to Australia, where it went as a shop display piece. I think I would have bitten my nails down to the elbow worrying about that!

I don't know if it was. I just picked up on an item in the paper about celebrity Warhammer fans. Apparently Henry Cavill is one of them.

He is, I have heard him nerding out about it a lot :D Sad that I even know his current army (Adeptus Custodes I think). Apparently his co-star on The Witcher, Joey Batey, plays as well.
