Ayton May 2022 18thC notes and queries
Re: Ayton May 2022 18thC notes and queries
Yeah I'm not really a fan of the WSS plastics. If worst comes to the worst I may have to bite the bullet and just get some metal cavalry.

I'm looking at possibly bringing three brigades of infantry and one cavalry brigade, each with artillery.

Is Warlord's plastic WSS stuff the old Wargames Factory stuff?
Re: Ayton May 2022 18thC notes and queries
They were excellent value in the old WF boxes, but WG reduced the sprues.Buff Redux wrote: ↑Wed Feb 02, 2022 8:56 pm Is Warlord's plastic WSS stuff the old Wargames Factory stuff?
I like the infantry and artillery - functional I'd say - but the cavalry!!!!!!!!!

Don't think I ever saw the cavalry. Was thinking of ordering some AWI dragoons from Perry Miniatures

The better bet, if you ask me.

Are you saying you have a problem with cavalry?Essex Boy wrote: ↑Wed Feb 02, 2022 10:45 pmThey were excellent value in the old WF boxes, but WG reduced the sprues.Buff Redux wrote: ↑Wed Feb 02, 2022 8:56 pm Is Warlord's plastic WSS stuff the old Wargames Factory stuff?

What figure count would you recommend for infantry units?

Would I be able to get away with having a unit of Napoleonic Polish Line Light Horse Lancers or neigh?Essex Boy wrote: ↑Wed Feb 02, 2022 4:14 pmHello there. Long time no see.
Hmmmmm plastic cavalry.......
Well, I absolutely hate the Warlord Games Spanish Succession cavalry - it's horrible - but it's the only set I know of with tricorns. You could get a box of Napoleonic cavalry and pretend they're 18thC? In fact, I imagine there's not much difference between a Napoleonic hussar and an 18thC hussar.
Hotel Tim, clever sod, stuck a tricorn head on some Napoleonic Cuirassiers. Very smart.
Best of luck.
