There's some notes on bases sizes on page one of this thread. Footprint is rather more important than figure count. Try this....

Infantry units: 24 - 30 figures with a frontage of anywhere between 180mm and 240mm. Other sizes/dimensions can be accommodated if you would rather do something different, but you probably shouldn't need to.

Cavalry units: 12 - 15 figures, possibly formed in two ranks, frontage not to exceed about 200mm.

Guns: one gun is a unit. You don't have to base it if you don't want to.

Skirmishers: a scattering of figures, maybe up to twelve. These are particularly useless.

Red Indians: Probably don't exist in Europe.

Are these the Imaginations Forces of the players, or those of the Essex Hitler Boy himself? 😂😂

It's something for Simon to read and worry about.

Would I be able to get away with having a unit of Napoleonic Polish Line Light Horse Lancers or neigh?
Sorry, forgot to answer this.

I'm sure they'll look smashing. It's your imaginary army, so who's to say what your cavalry uniforms look like. Your infantry however, do need to look late 17th or early to late 18thC.

Just realised the heads are separate on the cavalry so I could possibly use some of the heads from the AWI starter box.

All heads are separate if you try hard enough.

You can achieve the result in army size batches simply by not using a staircase

Just got the first troops for my army, one box of AWI continental infantry and one box of Hessians.
