2ème Corps

Post by ochoin »

It's amazing what you can do in two days, stuck at home. I've finished culling, re-organising & (horrors!) re-basing my last French corps. That gives me 2 line, 1 Guard & a Confederation Corps for Napoleon.

Each corps has infantry, cavalry & artillery integral to it. I can use a single corps for a small game, two for a larger & all 4 for a Show game.

The French Napoleonics are my oldest figures, in general. Some painted 40 years ago. Not the best painting but I have a great affection for them.

Fantastic post Donald, I really want to do Napoleonics in 20mm but I am going to finish off my hundreds of SYW figures first.

A splendid sight! But even more impressive to my mind is owning figures painted so long ago.
There is no point in being stupid if you don't show it!

Great stuff but as a lover of Napoleonic figures its nice to see them in any scale but I do wonder if they might be either a bit too short or too tall depending on whether I have my 15mm or 28mm glasses on  :o

Well done

Nope. Goldilocks (- just right).

I am looking forward to Naps being a focus for the next few years. I'm thinking for the typical "garage game" we continue to use 'General d'Armee' but for bigger games, give SHAKO a go. I'm impressed by the relatively quick & simple yet satisfying games we've been having using a SHAKO-variant for the SYW.

What's really enjoyable about the French Donald I think with a long term project is the ability to add a division of Poles, Bavarians etc. As far as opponents, Pwussians are the quickest to paint but I do like a wrusssian Napoleonic army. I'd also add a caveat that tehre should be a gaming law that any Hostrian opponents must be fielded in helmets not shakos
