These 60 figures took a l-o-n-g time to paint - mainly because I knew nothing about medieval warfare. But now that they're done, I'm happy with the result.
6 units @ 24 points
6 Elite cavalry, including their leader, Godfrey the Lion
Long bowmen in livery
Crossbowmen. Sometime in the near future, I'll get a set of parvises.
Heavy infantry spearmen
Veteran heavy infantry
Skirmishers
All Tumbling Dice 25mmmetal figures
I'm looking forward to my first games which should be within the month.

Nice looking force, Donald.
Kein Plan überlebt den ersten Kontakt mit den Würfeln. (No plan survives the first contact with the dice.)

Well done, I need to put mine together
Re: My Lion Rampant retinue
Done well with those!
There is no point in being stupid if you don't show it!

Re: My Lion Rampant retinue
great stuff !
Re: My Lion Rampant retinue
Excellent work. I love the guys with the "bumble bee" shields and the knights
Re: My Lion Rampant retinue
They look the goods, mate. It's a nice set of rules, too (V.1, I haven't tried V.2).
If "The System" is the answer, who asked such a bloody stupid question?

Re: My Lion Rampant retinue
Thanks for the kind comments.
Heraldry is a scary topic. I decided on simplicity & a theme. The retinue is lead by a fictious Anglo-French noble - a second son. His loyal retainers tend to feature yellow (& sometimes) black. Others are "guns for hire" types & rather random - the crossbowmen. There is also a possible rival leading the veteran heavy infantry- a noble holding a red, white & blue flag. The shields on that unit feature those colours.
I have 6 mounted sergeants nearly painted but alas no horses (order to Tumbling Dice in the near future). These can slot in to replace any of the above units. They'll carry the colours of the "rival".
All this back story should grow as I game with them.
