Apparently "Golden Sun" also doubles up as choking hazard - always handy to know.
Those ECW troops are just how I would expect "yellow coats" of that period to look - very nice.

Is an ECW yellow a tad deeper/darker than a 'usual' yellow?

I'm a huge fan of both the Citadel yellows mentioned by Simon...
Averland Sunset (kinda light mustard, but a great base coat and covers really well)
Iyanden Yellow Contrast Paint (as said, on a white, off white or very light grey base coat...as it's a Contrast, the cover is fantastic and the automatic highlighting and darker recess differentiation is awesome straight out of the pot) definitely a must try...I'm sure HMS Priapus has Anno Domini 1666 figure in this Contrast Yellow

Jamanus is correct. I’ve gotten good resultant that particular contrast paint on an AD1666 figure. Also been happy with the Andrea yellow set and the yellows from the Scale75 Fantasy set.

I use Vallejo golden brown as a base, then deep yellow. Used to use Citadel averlabd but couldn't find it for a while.

I would say a duller yellow at that time - I always tended to go for the ochre option on my 15mm ECWs, as The Goat Man suggests.

Do I recall reading that saffron was too expensive, seaweed not readily available, so most yellows were made with urine?
You can smell the yellowcoats coming...

That would explain Norwich's poor away form.
