Cheers Willz, I’m just getting back into miniature war gaming after not playing for some years. I’ve always been interested in the Napoleonic Wars, and really like the look of fielding massive armies. So 6mm Baccus fills this passion (being on a tight budget). But I’m a bit overwhelmed with what rule set to use? I think I will try the Polemos ones to start with and then take it from there.

I have heard good things about the David Brown set from TooFatLardies as well.

Or to get you started, ask Peeler about DBN, a low figure count set that gets you moving quickly as you build and paint up your armies.

Try writing your own for some fast play, I wrote some 18th century for my game I am putting on at Kenilworth. On one page written over a cup of coffee.

I like the look of the General D’Armee rules, but does anyone know if they will work with 6mm?

Edit: Just read a forum on TooFatLardies all about using 6mm, so that will do me :clappy:

I am a firm believer that all wargame rules can be used by any size / scale of figures. After all wargaming is just a concept of compromise on the space we have available to push our toys across the table.

I’ve got them and that is the planned scale for me. They certainly are written with 6mm in mind

Nothing wrong with that. Welcome to the forum Steve. Look up DBN wargaming for a view of that site & some videos on YouTube.

Hi Steve Welcome - I'm an huge fan of Dave Brown's GDA rules, its a must for large battles - I can't see any way that it would not work with 6mm figures - have you asked on the lardies forum?

Hi there
I found a forum on their site that answered what I was looking for. So I’ll have to open my wallet that time forgot and dig deep and get myself a copy of the rules.
