Never had or read that one, but do have his Pike and Shot one which is a great book, not least for the oobs of all the battles!

I have a reprint as I never got this one first time around. Some interesting ideas and some of the basing, particularly the Napoleonic, is idiosyncratic to say the least.

It was this or the Ancients one. But Terry Wise has a better writing style so wins the prize. Plus...all those Airfix conversions....wonderful

Airfix ACW were fantastic as for the first time affordable armies with infantry, cavalry (if you used 7th Cavalry set), artillery and even the wagon train, were possible. And this book gave you rules and inspiration.
