History book today, and one that isn’t nostalgia. Along with their book on Cowpens this is a masterpiece in how to analyse a battle

Good choice- I have a copy of the Cowpens book but have not got the Guilford Courthouse one.

After watching the BBC's drama War and Peace (1970s version) I wanted to refight Borodino so started collecting more Airfix French to paint up the Russians. At the same time I bought this wonderful book from Shepards of Gateshead.

Here’s my number one -

I love this book, I got it Somewhere between age 12 - 14 and is probably my most reread book - as you can tell by the tatters.
And the page photo I used to stare at repeatedly and is definitely to blame for me being in this hobby.

I definitely used to invest so much more time in a single thing such as this book or a magazine article, etc. We have so much to look at now.
