Esci Vietcong in short trousers running with rifle and bayonet. Head swap from the US Vietnam Esci kits, the ones without helmets. Then carved out the rifle and carved off any pockets etc. Then painted. The advantage is they all looked like they were kicking a ball. I think the goalie was a just been shot figure. Arms spread wide.

This was circa 1991/1992 when Wednesday finished 4th in the League and took Arsenal to an FA Cup replay. Then they got relegated the next year.

We had a huge footie league going. One of the guys had written rules and stats for each player. Made our own pitches and goals. Was great fun.

We weren’t lucky like you youngsters in those days. If we wanted something, we had to do it ourselves!

Excellent work!
We had a football game we invented and used with subbuteo stuff.
and We had this idea for a version of blood bowl but ice hockey and made a rink. I had skeletons. I don’t think we ever got a game going though lol
