Gloss Varnish.

And since then, I've had a sleep and a cheese sandwich. And thought, nah, I'm not actually happy with that. It's too dark and sucks the soul out of the glossy figures. So off I trotted to Boyes and bought another half dozen green variants and more gloss varnish.
Tried them, compared them, and finally, eventually, after much discussion with myself and others, decided on vallejo 82 olive green. Quite deep but light enough to show off my decidedly average and shiney chaps. So there we are. I'm happy again.

And it’s a top choice. Looking forward to those shiny fellas lining up in front of my machine guns in October

A good coat of thick gloss varnish acts like a shield to those poncey machine gun bullets.

Its polyurethane, it takes a while to dry.

People just keep glossing over the subject Ken. Frankly it’s all getting a bit tacky.
