Re: What are people buying?
I've done it. Hope this gives me mojo for some WWII painting.

If 2D mats or papers don't do it for you you have a few options.Shahbahraz wrote: ↑Sat Feb 27, 2021 11:27 am Nice work on the dormers. I always struggle to get them straight.
What are people doing for the cobble street bases?
Embossed Wallpapers can be good as their thickness means that they're good for lay on terrain.
Otherwise there are plenty of resin cast streets out there, at a cost. I've got some of the "slugworks" ones.
If you have the inclination to do terrain tiles or even a base tile for your town/village then embossed blue foam is an option. 10mm thick with a chamfered edge would probably work for a village base, if you can't face full modular tiles

Re: What are people buying?
All good suggestions. I’m using a 2D mat at the moment but want to graduate onto blue foam sculpted with Green Stuff World rolling pin:

Mind you, embossed wallpaper might be a good alternative, I’ve been using it as brick paper for buildings with some satisfaction and there’s a few options that would be good for roads:

I get lockdown, but I get up again.

I’ve got the Greenstuff World brick rolling pin for buildings

If you're doing a lot, the rollers are worth the investment.
If you just want an inch or so to edge your building bases they might not be so cost effective? (Although I have seen people make their own with a suitable bit of pipe or dowel and a dremel!)

I have the Green Stuff World cobblestone rolling pin. I might try sourcing some dense foam.

Firedragon games do the thin 10mm sheets in 1ft squares, and pre pressed stones etc.... Better quality than the Ebay stuff.Shahbahraz wrote: ↑Sat Feb 27, 2021 2:45 pm I have the Green Stuff World cobblestone rolling pin. I might try sourcing some dense foam.

Thanks for that.
Re: What are people buying?
Actually what exactly do you need? I have a few offcuts about 2inches wide and 12ish long with a rough cobble like pattern on. Happy to send them on.

Hi Paul, I just ordered from Firedragon, I have a bunch of uses for some dense foam, so thanks for that, but I will just wait for the Firedragon stuff to arrive.
