SYW artillery

I finally managed to secure some SYW Austrian gunners - Revell - all of 7 figures at some cost but they get me out of trouble.

They came with 2 of the guns from the set; 3 pounders. They're perfectly acceptable guns but I need field artillery, not regimental guns.

Any ideas where you can buy (probably metal) SYW artillery pieces at 20mm -1/72 scale?

Lancer miniatures have some 20mm SYW artillery.

Hinchliffe?

Or failing them, I could buck my ideas up and send you that box of Revell I have gathering dust.....

What? Old John hasn't sold you SYW artillery? I'm shocked.

I checked out the Lancer site. The figures look kind of small....are the guns compatible with, say, the Revell gunners?

I have a brigade of Lancer 20mm LoA figures.

I don't know about the equipment, but the foot figures measure up between Irregular and Les Higgins in height (much chunkier than both though). I suspect Revell gunners will be far too big.

Are you after generic guns, or something more specific?

Perhaps older 25mm artillery would be better. Hinchcliffe or Warriorc25mm French Napoleonic pieces may work.

I think it may be safer to just buy a set of the Zvevda GNW Swedish artillery. Probably a little old fashioned but at least the right size.

If you can get a set in Australialand then that must be the best bet. Hinchcliffe guns are excellent, and Warrior are quite good, and cheap.

Looking at the few photos available on the net http://randomncreative.blogspot.com/201 ... llery.html they should work just fine. Both the Russian & Prussian SYW or GNW sets available would work too. After all, captured guns were not infrequently put into service against their former owners!
