The C4th & C5th ones.
I've purchased a small number of 20mm Newline Huns to add to my slowly growing Late Roman forces. The idea being to suggest the "barbarisation" of Rome's military.
However, I'm unsure about painting them. I have nothing on my shelves & I can't find much on the net.
Any pointers to possible internet sources. photos or suggestions?

Re: Painting Huns
(ignoring ET)....so muted colours. Earth shades etc?
I'm wondering about skin tones, too. I'm thinking the usual pale skin tone with perhaps a heavier hand with the flesh wash & darken the usual highlights a bit?

Re: Painting Huns
the traditional story is that they dressed in garments of mouse skins. But you have to take a load of the Late Roman accounts as propaganda hogwash.
I would stick with general grot. Greys, browns, etc. Given they were reputed to live in the saddle they must have got pretty grimy and dusty. Depending on location and period they might well have nicked a load of better, more colourful gear.

Who wouldn't be? Keeping his torch alight while his horse rode through the swimming pool has to be something to celebrate.goat major wrote: ↑Mon Jun 21, 2021 8:28 am According to the Funckens all you need to known about Huns is that they are cheerful little campers

Re: Painting Huns
My take: browns and greys, with a bit of subdued other shades here and there.
