nomenclature

Post by ochoin »

I've written a set of rules originally intended for Dark Age conflicts between Romano-British, Saxons & other Germanic peoples. They are entitled - imaginatively- 'Dark Age Rules'.

However, they've shifted ground to a degree. After numerous tweaks & several re-writes, they now cover Late Antiquity as well as the early Dark Ages.
So conceivably Sassanids fighting Late Romans as well as Franks & Goths battling it out. Etc.
The rules need a more accurate & perhaps more appealing name?
I think names are important - even for a footling set of home-groan rules.
See here:

Any suggestions as to what I call these rules?

No one Narses you the name of these rules...

Hammer of the Goths though might work.

Perfect. Does exactly what it says on the tin.
Rules? You ask me what rules do I use. No, I don't do rules.

All to be said in that really EPIC, slightly Atlantic voice they use on adverts.

Iain's idea, expressed in the curious patois he is known for, is not without its charms.
However, I do like to pretend to be of a more serious mien & think a more dramatic title might be of immediate use.

I'll go with "A Tribute of Spears" then.
Thanks Paul. If I ever publish these rules (unlikely) and receive the adulation of the wargaming public (even more unlikely), I will acknowledge your contribution & send you a small financial reward (most unlikely of all).
