Some grenadiers and fusiliers Spencer Smith's

Post by Willz the Wargamer »

Finished these over the past 10 days, several grenadier battalions. Using Spencer Smiths connoisseur range.
These were bought the grenadiers pre-painted, all I have done is brightened up the colours, bit of artistic licence and based.
Oh and a fusilier battalion was painted by me, they had a heavy undercoat when I bought them.
All flags by David at "Not by Appointment".

Jean Luc Picard shifted his position slowly and gagged the smell from the city waste cart was overpowering but rather this than being pissed on by the entire grenadier battalion as threatened by the quartermaster general of the Nassau-Weilburg regiment. All Jean Luc had done was sell him 300 Prussian style mitres blue, with red backs and trimmed in false gold, jean Luc and Cpl Singer had spent a long night painting over the white trims of the mitres with bakers false gold. A parade was held for the grenadier battalion and they proudly were issued their new mitres to wear with their new uniforms, all was going well until a sudden downpour of heavy rain started to cause the bakers false gold to run. At the first drop of rain Jean Luc done a swift exit from the parade and promptly bribed his way onto the city's waste cart. Hence this is why the battalion has white lined mitres.

As the cart left the city's limits Jean Luc paid the driver several gold coins and offered a silent prayer to the weather Gods thanking them for a short rain shower. If the uniforms had gotten any wetter the cheap dye would have run and the grenadier battalion would now be wearing a light purple uniform :D .

Cheers for all your kind comments and support, productivity is quicker when the figures are pre-painted. All I have to do is touch up and base. :)

So Jean-Luc came up smelling of roses. Or rather the stuff you put on them to make them grow.....

Nice work, Willz.
