Spanish colonial black pardo battalion.
Finished this battalion today conversions using mainly Spencer Smith connoisseur ACW painted as Spanish colonial black pardo battalion.
With some AWI command figures. Uniforms are my interpretation of the uniforms worn as information before 1763 is lacking.
Flags by David at "Not by Appointment" with a hand written motto by me.
A big thank you to Neil for the idea of using the ACW figures.
Willz.

Nicely done - and don't look the least bit out of place alongside your other colonial SYW offerings.

Cheers Baron,
There's something about Spanish flags, the look cool.

Interesting unit. Very cool.
Re: Spanish colonial black pardo battalion.
Lovely work, mate. The Spanish flags do dress up a unit.
If "The System" is the answer, who asked such a bloody stupid question?

I actually recognise the "pose" of the bayonet-less figures from an ACW-related pic in Don Featherstone's book on Wargames Campaigns. Nice paint conversion, Willz!

Cheers Baron, Bill on the "Fife and Drum forum" uploaded some photos he found of a Pardo battalion.BaronVonWreckedoften wrote: ↑Sun Sep 22, 2024 8:27 am I actually recognise the "pose" of the bayonet-less figures from an ACW-related pic in Don Featherstone's book on Wargames Campaigns. I only looked for Pardo uniforms 1762 so I never found these.
When I find or work out how do do that hat I will make another battalion.
On the VWC an idea for red sash's was given, again I think I may paint sash's on my Pardo units.
