General d'Armee
General d'Armee
Any of you fellows familiar with David Brown's new-ish Napoleonic rule set?
I bought 'em & played 3 quick games last year & my pals and I very much like them. We were tied up with our 2019 project (ECW) so they've lain dormant but I want to start a mini-6 game Waterloo Campaign cycle using them.
I'm re-reading the rules now & have a few questions eg what's the benefit of having a brigade on Reserve status?

Re: General d'Armee
Having played (and enjoyed) General de Brigade, I suspect it will be a well-written set. Unfortunately, the command level goes too high for the types of games I like to play (fewer, but larger units), so I can't really help with the newer set. I suspect that I lost the marshal's baton in my knapsack fairly early on in my wargaming career.....

Blooming splendid, Donald. I particularly like the Bavarians.

+1.
Shame they make you play in a cage - is that the norm in Oz?

Re: General d'Armee
And a rather nice scale as well.
Re: General d'Armee
That looks great Donald
I'm a big GDeA fan having moved over from GdeB
Regrettably I play solo ( another innuendo?) so I'm probably not the best to ask about the nuances of a reserve brigade. Have you posed the question on the GdeA forum or Lard forum?I'd be interested in the responses

Re: General d'Armee
Being anal, unlike most wargamers (!!), I actually have a written list of questions as I re-read the rules. I should head over to Gd'A to get definitive answers.
Needless to say, in our little group, I'm the only one who's read the rules so it's up to me to get things right.

BTW I'm going to be using this for the mini-campaign:

Re: General d'Armee
I believe the Reserve order primarily allows you to redeploy the units designated to other sectors of the line much more efficiently. But it's been awhile.
