The worst part is....

Post by Jeremy »

What part of the whole figure painting process do you dislike/hate the most? Or don’t you have one (freak!)?

For me, I think it has to be flocking. Applying the glue carefully in-between the figures feet is always so tedious and painstaking! And for some reason my flocking process takes forever. I hate it.

What’s yours?

Applying the texture on multi base figures. Simply awful

White edges on Tricornes. Looks like it should be easy. Isn’t.

Deciding which unit of Classic Napoleonics to paint next. I have a lot of units to restore and paint and I keep putting of doing a unit of Old Guard.

This!
Basing as a whole is pretty dire but the sloppy bit on a 30 figure unit makes me internally scream.

I enjoy painting really, never used to - I was very much in the paint to play camp but as I’ve got older and I’m now 22, it’s nice to sit and switch off.
Perhaps the only thing that I don’t like painting is muskets. They are never crisp enough and I don’t bother to multi highlight them.

We all thought you were a bit camp Purps. But we didn’t want to say anything and hurt your feelings.

Getting started.

Don’t worry.

Varnishing and basing, takes me 5 seperate days even to do 1 figure. (Filler, let dry, paint, let dry, grit, let dry, varnish, let dry, (sometimes 2 coats/types) flock.)

Multi-part plastic figures. Gluing them can be tedious.
As I prefer to brush on Primer, this chore is a bit dull too.
