Stu - mix a little matt blue in with it to take the high gloss off.

The Humbrol satin black (85) is nice. Don't know if they have it in acyrlics though.

I really like Revell paints and they do a good range of blacks. Available at Hobbycraft.

Revell are what I'm increasingly using since the model shop in Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch stocks them. Nice paints TBH, and I like the squat containers which are very hard to knock over!
