Advice on putty

Yup as said above it should be a fairly straightforward conversion.
Greenstuff/Kneadite is available fro GW stores or from Northstar, and many other retailers those just spring to mind.
I prefer a putty called 'Procreate' which comes in either grey or brown.
For the horns i'd drill the head and implant a suitably bent piece of steel wire (I find the brass stuff doesn't take paint/putty as well). Then use a thin layer of putty to provide shape and bring to a point.
If you're not confident and can wait a little while I would be happy to have a go at this conversion for you (as the project is at least partially my fault much more fun to do it yourself though.

However, don't go for the current hot putty, Beesputty in this case, as you have to bake it to harden it.....

Thats the putty and pinvice ordered from minibits. Just need get wire.

One last question - will the green stuff stick to plastic figure by itself or will it need glue?

It will stick to the figure no problem

Before it starts to cure, GS will stick to just about anything.......unless the surface is wet or greasy.

Green stuff will stick to anything and your problems will likely be because you find it too sticky! In order to stop it sticking to sculpting tools and to enable your to smooth it out you'll need to keep a little bit of water handy to dip the tools in. this will stop the putty sticking to the tools and give you more control of the finish.
