Apparently there is no loo roll panic buying in France due (a) to the pernicious influence of the bidet and (b) the fact that when God invented the Frenchman he invented the perfect arsehole

Re: Everyone's Blog Updates thread reminder
Some years ago, England soccer fans rioted in Paris and trashed the place. Fast forward a few weeks and England were playing rugby against France at the Parc des Princes and some friends invited me to join them. Cue a French interior minister needing to distract people from a scandal in his department, so he goes all de Gaulle on us and promises to be "tough" on English hooligans, and the CRS were deployed to escort us into the ground. (This was also the time when the French were hijacking lorries full of live British sheep and setting fire to them at the roadside, whilst the French police chatted amongst themselves.) At one point we were all being channeled through a narrow gap, so a few fans at the front started going "Baaa!!! Baaa!!!" which was quickly taken up by the whole crowd. After we had entered the ground and found our seats, a couple of French fans came over to us and shook our hands. When we asked why, they revealed they were both ex-coppers and confessed it was the only time they had ever seen members of the CRS laughing uncontrollably.

Now that is a perfect example of the bond we have with the French ! The stereotypes and humour goes both ways.

Today on the blog, I've got some Cold War Polish Fagots!
These are 15mm Polish AT-4 SPIGOT ATGM teams, which were known to the Soviets of course, as the 9K111 Fagot:

Very nice work. I still have the figures stashed away to do an East German force to match up with my Danes, but they are well down the schedule.

Ooo, Danes... Did you show me those a while back, or was that someone else? I've got a heap of DanesShahbahraz wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 12:08 am Very nice work. I still have the figures stashed away to do an East German force to match up with my Danes, but they are well down the schedule.

I can't recall? I just did a smallish battlegroup

Originally I was going to use Cold War Commander, and then Team Yankee, but lack of opponents and rules has meant they have never seen action.

Is that air support an RAF harrier?
Re: Everyone's Blog Updates thread reminder
Ooo, lovely. I think it was someone else's collection I saw before, but it had all the same elements, funnily enough. I've been working on a Cold War mod of 'Battlefront: WWII' for years and had some good games with my Danes and East Germans.Shahbahraz wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 8:07 am I can't recall? The core of the RAF element of UK Mobile Force reinforcement to Denmark was two squadrons of Jaguars from Coltishall and a squadron of Pumas from Odiham, with the option to take a squadron of Harriers from Wittering. They were also to receive a squadron of German Hueys from the Schleswig-Holstein Territorial Force. The Army element was 1 Brigade, which was mostly lorried infantry (eventually upgraded to Saxon), a weak (Type 43) Regiment of Chieftains, a Medium Recce Squadron and other bits.
