Basing. I love engraving my monogram and date on the underside. Then grinding the edges completely square. Then painting the pefect 3 mm matt black line around the bottom. At this point I enjoy the buzz of satisfaction knowing the model is finished and light up a cigar.
Erm.. It's just me isn't it ?

Applying washes and watching the magic happen. I don't use them all that much but when it works, it really works.

Just lately, it's been experimenting with the GW contrast paints. They don't always work, but when they do it is soooo satisfying, particularly when you can paint half a dozen figures in an hour and they look as good as stuff I've painted that takes an hour per figure.
Of course the worst bit is when they don't work and you've f***ed up two quids worth of figure and have to start again
Why us? Cos we're 'ere lad, nobody else.

FAces. When the figure has character and the sculpter has given you something decent to paint. I thought my Mexican miltia types had very good Mexican (Indian?) faces.

1. I’m with Dave on wash applying.
2. Building the storage trays, applying the magnetic tape, fitting them into RUBs and placing them in order in the basement. Anal? You think so?

I most heartily agree - most of the time - unless I applied too much and they look like a dirty bunch of ragamuffins when they're dry the following morning

There was a word search grid going round FB where you were going to get the first 3 words you spotted once lock down ends. I was quite fortunate as anal was the 4th word. For the record I got money, travel and arse, which isn't necessarily the same thing.
