That's a good way of torturing your enemies to death.

You are condemned to penal servitude for life on a desert island with all the Mel Gibson movies.

Fortunately, since the first fleet docked, we have developed alternatives to watching Mel Gibson. Some parts of the island are quite habitable, the eastern sliver gets more rain than the UK. They opened up a colony to the south and called it Victoria, I'm told it will open for business soon.

Then there's The Light Horsemen, which was pretty good.

Crocodile Dundee? Paul Hogan competes with Gibson for biggest Aussie acting arsehole. There are actually plenty of good Australian actors. I suspect most people don't actually realise they are Australian.

I am indeed. Apologies.

Most of them originally from NZ or the UK! There are a lot of very good OZ actors. It's helped by the fact that a lot of 'American' movies are actually shot in Australia these days.

Good Australian actors are too busy in Neighbours, then going to Hollywood or the music industry!

Alan Dale and Guy Pierce spring to mind, along with the magnificent Hugo Weaving and Richard Roxbugh.
