The only reason I posted was when I realised I had misread Mark’s topic title and thought this was another valid or a bit more specialised question

To be honest I was thinking about a conversation I had with a friend last week who said there are almost no decent WW2 desert war films in colour.

I know LoA was not WW2, the question just stuck with me.

Few Desert War films because the US would prefer to forget most of their involvement, so no American cinema audience.
